Retirement Plan Services

As a business owner, executive, or non-profit director, you understand a well-designed retirement plan is one of the most important ways to attract, reward and retain employees. But chances are, you don't consider managing that retirement plan to be one of your primary priorities.

That's why First Southern Wealth Management offers a wide range of convenient, comprehensive retirement plan solutions designed to meet your needs.  Our clients range from small to mid-sized corporations, multi-generationally owned family businesses, and non-profits.

These are some the questions we get asked most frequently:

  • How much should our plan cost?
  • How do we choose investments?
  • What does plan design really mean?
  • How do we know if we've got the right plan?
  • What does it mean to be a fiduciary?
  • How can we make sure our employees understand this stuff?

We've got the answers to these and many other questions that may be on your mind.

Our goal is to simplify the process, ensure value for plan costs, minimize fiduciary exposure and maximize the participant experience.  We provide services in an independent, transparent, honest, format that is service provider and investment agnostic.  We work for our clients, not the service providers.

First Southern Wealth Management can assist in all phases of Employer Sponsored Retirement Plans, from initial plan design to a fiduciary assessment of your current plan.  We help build and maintain a flexible, cost-effective solution to meet your needs and those of your employees.

Our process has 6 major components

  • Investment Due Diligence – Our 12-point scoring system that incorporates both quantitative and qualitative metrics is used to help with initial investment selection and is presented quarterly to the committee in our Investment Monitoring Report.
  • Fiduciary Compliance – We provide resources to help identify potential weakness in your plan and remedy through education, diligence and process.
  • Provider Benchmarking – Our Provider Analysis Report includes numerous data points in key areas: Recordkeeping, Total Plan Cost, Investment Management, Compliance, Employee Education and Technology.
  • Target Date Fund Consulting & Risk Analysis – risk based analysis to ensure the proper selection of a new or existing target date fund. Since most target date funds serve as the plan QDIA, due diligence should be done every couple of years.
  • Plan Design – We lead the committee through a behavioral health audit to assess the design of the plan in order to improve participant outcomes through positive choice architecture, plan design and match optimization.
  • Financial Wellness Education – Providing employees with access to financial wellness education is a priority. Personal financial issues and debt are a leading cause for absenteeism and workplace stress.  Employees deserve tools that meet them where they are today.  Financial Wellness focuses on budgeting, emergency funds, managing debt, sound financial management skills and basic financial planning.  These tools give employees the knowledge and skill to better handle their current finances and help reach their future goals.
